Timmins Police are investigating after the body of 28-year-old Chelsea Nakogee was found behind the Porcupine Mall Nov. 12. The parking lot behind the mall was secured by police for hours on Monday for investigation. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201.

To meet the growing demand for its brews, Full Beard is hoping to expand and is eying Ottawa for its second location. To help finance the expansion, they are launching a crowdfunding campaign with FrontFundr. While it's not live yet, you can start making reservations. Find out how here.

The 2014-2018 term of council met for its final time this week. In its final act, it approved renaming the building housing the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre, Timmins Economic Development Centre, and Tourism Timmins after longtime municipal politician Mike Doody. Soon, the building will be known as the Michael "J.J." Doody Centre of Excellence.

While it may have cost Steve Black the mayor's seat, he counts Stars and Thunder as one of the items he's most proud of during his mayoral tenure. The United Way gave a $30,000 to the Anti-hunger Coalition of Timmins' Good Food Box program this week. Most of the cash is being used for the new home delivery feature, which was launched this year. More details about the donation and program are available here.
