The City of Timmins and union representing employees at the Timmins airport have reached a tentative deal, according to the City of Timmins.

In a statement, the city said they reached the tentative agreement with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) yesterday (Tuesday, March 26).

"The tentative agreement reached was a proposal made by the City of Timmins to the Union at mediation on March 7, 2019. It is the Employers understanding that a ratification vote will take place by the PSAC unionized employees on Monday, April 1, 2019," reads the statement.

PSAC is the bargaining agent for the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees, which represents 19 workers, including maintenance and airfield technicians, mechanics, electricians and administrative personnel.

Earlier this month, the union had given its 72-hour strike notice, however that was later put on hold.

Details about the agreement won't be released until it's approved by both parties.
