Timmins class in isolation due to COVID-19 case

A Timmins class is in isolation due to a COVID-19 case.

One class at Ecole catholique Anicet-Morin has been isolated, according to Conseil scolaire catholique de district des Grandes Rivieres. The school is open.

Yesterday, a new COVID-19 case was reported in Timmins. According to Public Health Ontario data, it is a male under the age of 20. The exposure is unknown. 

A potential exposure advisory has also been issued for Mount Jamieson Resort. It is for people at the resort Sunday, March 7 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To date, there have been 344 confirmed cases of the virus. Of those, 316 are recovered and 25 people have died. There are three known active cases. 

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
