Six new COVID-19 cases reported

Four are linked to the Kapuskasing Extendicare outbreak

Six new COVID-19 cases are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit. 

These are in addition to the three cases that were announced this morning.

One of the new cases is in Timmins. The cause is under investigation. Four cases are linked to the outbreak at Extendicare Kapuskasing, and one is in the area of Hearst, Hornepayne. All the people are in self-isolation.

To date, there have been 233 cases of the virus in the Porcupine Health Unit region. There are 56 known active cases.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
