Four new COVID-19 cases in Timmins and area

Four new COVID-19 cases are being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit, bringing the total number of cases confirmed today to five. 

Two of the cases are in Timmins. One is the contact of a case and the exposure of one is under investigation. One is in the Hearst, Hornepayne ara and part of an institutional outbreak. There is also one person in the Kapuskasing area whose exposure is being the contact of a case. All of the people are in self-isolation.

Earlier today, one case was reported in the Hearst, Hornepayne area.

To date there have now been 299 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in the region. Of those, 231 are recovered and 22 people have died. There are 46 known active cases.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
