One new COVID-19 case in Hearst area

One new COVID-19 case is being reported in the Porcupine Health Unit region.

The person is in the Hearst, Hornepayne area and is the contact of a case, according to the health unit. The person is in self-isolation.

To date, there have been 295 confirmed cases of the virus in the region. Of those, 231 are recovered and 22 people have died. There are 42 known active cases.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
