Mickey Auger is seeking re-election in Ward 2.

TimminsToday asked each of the candidates to submit a bio to introduce themselves to the voters. Here's Ward 2 candidate Mickey Auger's introduction:

The reason I'm going for a second term is to improve my community by getting the heavy ore trucks off the streets, which I’m working with MPP George Pirie on.

I got the bridge on Bruce Avenue worked (on) as it was a safety issue and a new bus shelter on Main Street so people don’t have to sit in the cold or snow. I also want to make sure our taxes and water bill stay low so seniors can stay in their homes.

I have lived in South Porcupine for 47 years. I have patrolled the streets and tried to help the kids to stay out of trouble. I find that South Porcupine is like a big family, I try and help everyone if I can. I try my best.

My kids live in South Porcupine and my grandkids also. I just want to make it better for them and others. The residents of South Porcupine can call me any time if they have a problem and I will try and fix it for them.

The municipal election is on Oct. 24. The municipal election is on Oct. 24. Election day is Oct. 24. The other Ward 2 candidates are Lorne Feldman and Marcus Niebler.
