TimminsToday asked each of the candidates to submit a bio to introduce themselves to the voters. Here's Timmins mayoral candidate Raymond Burey's:

I was born on April 30, 1956. I am third generation to have work in the mining industry.

I am bilingual, graduated from Ecole secondaire Theriault in a four-year electrical technology course. Upon graduation I won a bursary in mathematics and in physics.

I attended Northern College and served a five-year electrical apprenticeship program.

I completed my apprenticeship at Kidd Creek mines as an underground electrician.

Later I open my own electrical company. I relocated to Southern Ontario and joined the IBEW Local 303 were I served as recording secretary.

I have work in automotive plants, large ships and high rises.

Return to Timmins to retire and have been plague by excessive tax increases. We now pay double than any southern municipality. I want to direct this city back to a time were taxes were affordable.

I get things done, that is my strong suit. I am an impatient man and I don't like to wait for things to happens. I make it happen.
