Youth accused of breaching court-imposed conditions

Police say the youth was arrested in relation to an early morning incident on Tuesday

The Timmins Police Service located and arrested a local young person stemming from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 24 in South Porcupine.

The incident was investigated and it was determined that a breach of release conditions imposed upon the charged person by the Ontario Court of Justice had occurred.

Later that same day, a Timmins Police Service officer located and arrested the young person at a Waterloo Road restaurant. As a result, a 14-year-old young person, who cannot be named in keeping with statutory regulation, was arrested and taken into police custody and is charged with:

  • Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
