Woman denied entry to building accused of causing a disturbance, threatening staff

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident that occurred at a Cedar Street North location during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 24.

The Timmins Police Service responded to an incident where a female suspect had initiated a public disturbance after being denied entry into the building. When denied entry, the suspect became belligerent towards the staff at the building and caused a disturbance to occur. Responding Timmins Police Service officers identified, located and arrested the suspect.

As a result of the incident, Briana Carbal, 28, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Cause disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

She has been released from police custody on the strength of an undertaking compelling her to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on Sept. 28 to address the charges laid against her.
