Woman charged with assault after Saturday incident

It wasn't reported to police until the next day 'based on the suspect uttering additional threats to the same male victim' at a Timmins intersection

(TIMMINS) The Timmins Police Service has investigated a mid-morning disturbance that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 11 resulting in injury to a 51-year-old male person.

The Timmins Police Service investigated an occurrence where a female person entered into a verbal dispute with a male person at a Mountjoy Street South apartment complex that escalated to the point where the suspect uttered threats and struck the victim with a closed fist.

The incident was not reported to the police until the following day based on the suspect uttering additional threats to the same male victim at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Mountjoy Street South.

The responding Timmins Police officers were able to identify, locate, and arrest the female suspect at her residence. As a result, Flora Job, 53, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • 2 counts of Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against her.

The victim received medical attention for the injuries he sustained during the altercation.
