Woman charged after armed robbery at convenience store

Police say the 38-year-old brandished a weapon and demanded merchandise

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from a robbery that occurred during the evening hours of Saturday, Sept. 10 at the north end convenience store.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a complaint regarding a female suspect who had attended at the convenience store, brandished a weapon, and demanded merchandise.

The clerk complied and the suspect fled on foot with stolen merchandise.

The responding officers were able to successfully identify, locate, and arrest the suspect a short distance from the original scene.

The stolen item was returned to the store clerk.

Based on the outcome of the investigation, Pamela Koosees, 38, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Robbery with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
