Two facing breach of conditions charges

The pair were arrested for breaching prior release conditions, police say

TEMISKAMING SHORES – On Aug. 23, 2020, shortly after 12:30 p.m. members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of two individuals that were breaching conditions from a prior release, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

Officers attended Elliot Street, and a short time after, one of the accused turned themselves over to police, to answer to the charges. 

Lee-Anna Fortier, a 22-year-old resident of Temiskaming Shores, is charged with: 

  • Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) (two counts). 

A Feeney warrant was obtained for the second individual. 

On Aug. 24, 2020 shortly after 6 a.m. officers entered the residence, and located the accused hiding. Police subsequently arrested the accused on the strength of the warrant. 

Daniel Corner, a 22-year-old resident of Lorrain Township, is charged with: 

  • Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) (four counts). 

Both accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
