Two arrested on warrants in separate incidents: police

The Timmins Police Service arrested two local residents on the strength of respective arrest warrants which were executed stemming from separate incidents.

While responding to a call for service at the 101 Mall yesterday, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized the subject of the complaint as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Patrick Martin, 38, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to charges resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.

In a separate incident in regards to a “suspicious person” call for service in the Mountjoy Street South area early this morning, the responding Timmins Police officer located the subject of the complaint and recognized her as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Kanina Manchester, 19, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to charges resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.
