Driver was violating court imposed curfew, police say

The Timmins Police Service arrested a Timmins resident stemming from an incident where the suspect was found to be in breach of a court imposed conditions listed in a conditional sentence order.

A Timmins Police officer conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle with a mechanical defect during the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 9 on Algonquin Boulevard.

Based on a cursory police systems check, it was determined that the driver was found to be in breach of a court imposed curfew.

As a result, Normand Gamache, 58, of Timmins was taken into police custody and is charged with:
    •    fail to comply with conditional sentence order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the criminal charge laid against him.
