Timmins teen victim of fatal hunting incident

According to the Northeastern District Catholic School Board on Facebook, Brent Secord was a Grade 12 student at O'Gorman High School. Flags at all the board's schools and board office have been lowered to honour him.

The full text of a release on this incident issued by the Ontario Provincial Police follows:

MORLEY TOWNSHIP - Shortly before 4 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2019, members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) responded to an incident where a man had been fatally injured while hunting.

The male has been identified as Brent Secord, 18 years old, of Timmins, Ont.

Officers from the Rainy River District OPP Detachment, OPP Forensic Identification Services, OPP North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Darryl Sigouin of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
