Timmins man charged after early-morning break in

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local resident with break-in related offences stemming from an incident which occurred early this morning at a retail store located on Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins.

The Timmins Police Service responded to motion alarms at the retail outlet at approximately 1:25 a.m. and confirmed that a forced entry break and enter had been committed.

Responding officers located the suspect, with a quantity of freshly stolen property, in his possession a short distance from the original scene.

The man was arrested and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service.

The store had sustained considerable damage as a result of the break-in.

As a result of the incident, Curtis Shisheesh, 38, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Break and Enter with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  
  • Mischief to Property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning (May 1) at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
