Timmins man accused of throwing a rock through a window at downtown business

Police say he caused approximately $500 in damage

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident which occurred at a downtown business during the early evening hours of Monday, Aug. 3.

A local man was observed making his way to the back of the Burnette Road business and then proceeded to throw a large rock through the buildings glass door resulting in approximately $500.00 in damage. The man fled the scene on foot. The man was identified, located and arrested a short while later by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of the incident, Andrew Wesley, 40, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at provincial court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
