Search for missing Holtyre man ongoing

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Matheson Detachment is appealing to the public for information regarding an ongoing missing person case.

On Nov. 18, 2021, Lawrence Miller, age 54 of Holtyre was reported as missing. He was last seen on Nov. 13, 2021, at approximately 6 p.m. on Guibord Avenue in Black River-Matheson Township.

An extensive search was conducted, involving local officers, the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, as well as OPP Aviation Services. Miller's photo and description were also posted on OPP social media accounts.

Miller's all-terrain vehicle was located south of Guibord Road in Holtyre.

A renewed search is underway, with an increased police presence around the Guibord Road area.

Investigators want to hear from anyone who may have seen Lawrence Miller or may have information related to his disappearance.

He is described as:

  • 162 cms (5'4") tall
  • Heavy build
  • Last seen wearing a bright orange jacket and baseball hat

Members of the Iroquois Falls OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, as well as the OPP helicopter.
