Thanks to a number of local benefactors, the Timmins Police Service has been able to play Santa to a large number of less fortunate citizens who are struggling to make ends meet at this time of year.

Armed with $3,000 in gift cards and other donated funds, Timmins Police Constable Kevin Drynan and Constable Caroline Rouillard were able to spread a little Christmas cheer to worthy recipients.

This program comes about as the result of the generosity of local anonymous benefactors who provided the funds that allow for this undertaking to thrive.

Who better than a beat cop to identify and locate those in dire need?

A couple of worthy families were the recipient of enhanced donations based on their current situation.

Others were located at random by these officers.

Each recipient appreciates the gesture which it is hoped helps them see the police in a different light.

Merry Christmas!!
