With the challenges and personal restriction imposed by the public health protocols regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Timmins Police Service wishes to remind the public that law enforcement efforts and public safety strategies remain intact in the city of Timmins.

The general public should be reassured that staffing levels of front-line and specialty investigative units at the Timmins Police Service remain at optimum levels.

Given the nature of the pandemic, the manner in which service delivery is carried out by the Timmins Police Service has been tailored to suit the situation, but every call for service that merits a police response will be addressed appropriately and in a timely fashion.

Chief John Gauthier echoes these sentiments by adding “The core function of the Timmins Police Service is to provide protection to our citizens regardless of the nature of the circumstance. It is quite obvious that these are challenging times, but the uniform and civilian staff of the Timmins Police Service continues to work cohesively towards maintaining public order. Each citizen, guest, or visitor to the city of Timmins can count on the officers of the Timmins Police Service to render assistance, guidance, and protection no matter the nature of the call for service. We remain committed to providing a professional and competent level of service that the citizens are entitled to receive”
