Police looking for tractor-trailer that hit a hydro pole yesterday

The Timmins Police Service is seeking public assistance in regards to a collision involving a tractor-trailer that occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. yesterday (March 31st)  afternoon at the intersection of Algonquin Boulevard and Mountjoy Street North. 

A blue Peterbilt conventional style commercial motor vehicle (CMV) hauling an unloaded flatbed trailer was southbound on Mountjoy Street and proceeded to complete a right-hand turn onto  Algonquin Blvd when the trailer section collided with a hydro pole at the intersection. 

The operator fled the scene and continued west on Algonquin Boulevard. 

The hydro pole sustained significant damage which resulted in a closure of the intersection for a  significant period of time having all westbound traffic rerouted to allow for investigation and repairs to take place. 

The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section is completing an investigation into the collision.
