Police are investigating a serious incident on Mountjoy Street South.
The incident happened late this afternoon in an apartment building, said Timmins Police.
The scene is under police control for the investigation. Police said the residence is being treated as a crime scene.
"A strong police presence is in this area and access to the address of interest and certain adjoining properties may be restricted and controlled as a precautionary measure for the time being," said police in a news release.
The immediate area is being canvassed for evidence.
Officers from the criminal investigations division and forensics unit are on scene.
