Police called when Timmins man causes disturbance downtown

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with drug-related offences stemming from a disturbance at a downtown gas station in Timmins that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 17.

A Timmins Police Service officer responded to an “unwanted person” complaint and located the subject of the complaint at the scene of the original complaint.

The subject was arrested by the Timmins Police officer. A cursory search of the arrested person resulted in a quantity of methamphetamine tablets being located on the subject’s person.

As a result of the incident, Faron Blais, 22, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Blais remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins. The outcome of that hearing has yet to be determined.
