Neighbour dispute leads to charges in Kirkland Lake

Police say the accused threatened to assault their neighbour after a verbal argument

On Sept. 13, 2022, frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a neighbour dispute on McCamus Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

The investigation revealed that there was a verbal argument and that the accused threatened to assault their neighbour.

As a result, Ryley Everingham, 32, of Kirkland Lake, was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering Threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 13, 2022, in Kirkland Lake.
