Multiple sexual assault charges laid in Temiskaming Shores

The victims were brought to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, say police

A number of sexual assault charges have been laid after a Temiskaming Shores investigation.

Temiskaming OPP responded to a sexual assault on Cedar Avenue on Dec. 11 around 7:30 p.m. 

"While investigating the initial complaint, police were alerted to a second complaint involving two more victims. The victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," said police in a news release.

A 24-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been charged with: 

  • Two counts of sexual assault 
  • Two counts of sexual assault on a person under 16 years with threats to a third person 
  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years causing bodily harm
  • Two counts of sexual interference
  • Two counts of invitation to sexual touching under 16 years
  • Robbery with violence
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Three counts of assault
  • Two counts of uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm

The accused is in police custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on Dec. 16.
