A Timmins man wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant faces weapons charges after officers found the accused “acting suspiciously” at a local convenience store early this morning.
The 48-year-old was interviewed by police and he was arrested after the validity of the arrest warrant was confirmed, says a news release issued by the Timmins Police Service.
A concealed knife was seized during the man’s arrest.
As a result o this investigation, the accused was charged with:
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Carry concealed weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
None of the charges have been tested in court.
