The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with theft-related offences stemming from an incident that occurred on Sunday, April 18th at a Schumacher convenience store.
A Timmins Police Service officer responded to a call for service where a male party had fled the store without paying for a number of items.
The responding officer confronted the male suspect a short distance from the original scene and found him to be in possession of the stolen items and placed him under arrest.
As a result of the incident, Faron Blais, 23, of Timmins, has been charged with:
- Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Blais remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
