Man charged after altercation with neighbour

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a series of assault related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the late afternoon hours of Sunday, July 12 at a Sixth Ave. apartment.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a matter where a male person entered into a verbal altercation with his neighbor, a 44 year old woman, which culminated with the man threatening to strike the woman with a baseball bat.

Upon arrival on scene, Timmins Police Service officers located the man who persisted in engaging in aggressive behavior towards the officers.

The man was eventually subdued and taken into custody.

Based on the outcome of the investigation into the incident, Rino Beaulieu, 64, of Timmins, has been charged with: 

  • Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Uttering Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused person has been released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking compelling him to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Sept. 8 to answer to the charges laid against him.
