Timmins Police want to know what you're doing with the rest of your life.

The local police service is looking for a few good men and women to join their ranks. A recruitment open house is being held today (June 28) at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Timmins Police station on Spruce Street South.

"The Timmins Police are actively seeking those persons who possess a strong commitment to their community, a positive approach to problem solving and an aptitude or motivation focused on continuous learning," said police in a news release.

They are looking for people who are:

  • seeking a rewarding career in law enforcement
  • considering a career change
  • re-entering the workforce and open to other opportunities
  • need to be more challenged by their field of work

Today's sessions are a chance to gain an in-depth understanding of career opportunities as a special constable or sworn-in officer. Members from the service's specialty units will also be talking about their role and challenging aspects of the job.

Recruiters will also demystify the hiring process and give guidance on how to be a successful application.
