Impaired charges laid after single-vehicle crash near Cochrane

Their license has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days, say police

A driver is facing impaired charges after a single-vehicle crash near Cochrane. 

Just after 6 p.m. on Dec. 13, James Bay OPP responded to the crash on Concession 2&3 in Fournier Township southwest of Cochrane.

Police allege the driver had been drinking and they were brought to the Cochrane OPP detachment for testing. 

A 45-year-old from Fournier Township has been charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Their license has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 28.
