The Timmins Police Service has investigated a mid-afternoon disturbance that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 12 resulting in injury to a security guard.
The Timmins Police Service investigated an occurrence where a male person who was in police custody was brought to hospital.
The suspect engaged in belligerent behaviour and proceeded to assault a security guard. The security guard sustained injury to his hand requiring medical attention.
As a result, Mathieu Caron, 34, of Timmins has been charged with:
- Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
