The main road between Timmins and Sudbury has reopened after being closed for nearly two days following a fatal crash.

Highway 144 between Highway 101 and The Watershed closed on Nov. 2 around 5 p.m. after a crash involving three commercial motor vehicles. It reopened in both directions today (Nov. 5) around noon.

OPP says the extended closure was for a spill that needed to be cleaned.

The crash happened near Doyle Road just south of The Cache.

A southbound CMV collided with two northbound CMVs, which led to the highway being blocked, said South Porcupine OPP.

The name of the person who was killed will not be released until the next of kin are notified.
