Fatal crash investigation ongoing

One driver was killed in the Highway 11 collision and one was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Police have released more details about the fatal crash near Englehart yesterday.

Temiskaming OPP has released more details on the two-vehicle collision that happened on Highway 11 around 6:30 a.m. yesterday (Oct. 5) in the Township of Evanturel.

Police say a northbound truck entered the southbound lane and collided with a southbound truck. The driver of the southbound vehicle was found dead in their vehicle. A post-mortem is being done today in Toronto. The name of the victim has not been released.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was brought to the hospital via Ornge air ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

Highway 11 was closed for more than eight hours for the investigation and reopened around 3 p.m. yesterday.

The OPP's Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and the Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are helping with the investigation.
