A driver who fled the scene of a crash was arrested west of the city.

On Sept. 30, Timmins Police say there was a crash on Riverside Drive in the early morning hours.

The collision, said police, was the result of aggressive driving, with the driver of an SUV fleeing the scene after colliding with a passenger vehicle.

The suspect was located by OPP west of Timmins in the Boom Lake area (near Keefer Lake).

A 35-year-old man from Timmins is charged with driving a motor vehicle while under suspension, following too closely and failing to remain.

The accused was released from police custody after a bail hearing and is slated to appear in court again on Oct. 31.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
