Dispute in Coleman Township leads to uttering threats charge

On Feb. 18, 2021, shortly before 4:30 p.m. members from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a threats call at a residence in Coleman Township.

Further investigation revealed that a dispute between two people escalated to threats being made against one of the parties involved.

As a result, Alain Martel a 31-year-old resident from Temiskaming Shores was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
