The Timmins Police Service has investigated a late afternoon disturbance that occurred yesterday at a Park Avenue residence, resulting in injury to a 58-year-old female person.
The Timmins Police Service investigated an occurrence where a guest entered into a verbal dispute with a female occupant of the residence that escalated to the point where the suspect assaulted the woman and uttered threats.
The suspect was located and arrested by responding Timmins Police officers.
As a result, Alexandre Bellerive, 28, of Timmins has been charged with:
- Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
The victim declined medical treatment for the injuries she sustained during the altercation.
