Charlton-Dack resident charged with sexual assault

CHARLTON-DACK – On April 27, 2021, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Temiskaming Crime Unit commenced an investigation into historical sexual assaults in the Municipality of Charlton-Dack.

The alleged incidents occurred between 2017 and 2021 involving two young persons under the age of 18-years.

A 43-year-old resident of Charlton-Dack, has been arrested and charged with: 

  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC), 
  • Sexual interference, contrary to section151 of the CC, and
  • Sexual assault, contrary to section 271 of the CC.  

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victims.
