Charleston resident, 23, faces assault, forcible confinement charges

TEMISKAMING SHORES - On April 28, 2020, shortly after 2 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance that took place on Browning Street in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

As a result of the investigation a 23-year-old resident of Charlton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault - spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Forcible confinement, contrary to section 279(2) of the CC, and
  • Criminal harassment - repeatedly follow, contrary to section 264(2) of the CC.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
