Bus depot disturbance leads to charges

A disturbance at a local bus depot led to charges for a Timmins man.

Over the weekend, Timmins Police laid two charges for causing a disturbance in separate incidents.

Timmins Police say in the early evening hours of Oct. 8, officers were called to a local bus depot for a disturbance in progress involving an agitated man. 

Officers calmed the man down and agreed to his request to take him to the hospital. 

"A short while later, the man renewed his disruptive behaviour at the hospital by being disruptive and yelling vulgarities at hospital staff," reads a Timmins Police news release.

A 44-year-old Timmins man is charged with causing a disturbance and failing to comply with a probation order. 

The accused was held in police custody waiting for a bail hearing today. 

A day earlier, a woman was also charged. 

The evening of Oct. 7, officers were called to a disturbance in progress involving an agitated person in the south end of the city. 

A 30-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance and failing to comply with an undertaking.

She was held in police custody for a bail hearing today.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
