A joint patrol on local trail led to charges for a Timmins man.
On Sunday (Sept. 17), South Porcupine OPP officers and and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) members conduct a joint ATV patrol on Malette Lumber Road in Massey Township.
One of the traffic stops resulted in charges for two local residents.
A 39-year-old man from Timmins is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
The driver of the vehicle — a 39-year-old Timmins resident — was charged with driving while under suspension.
None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
