North Bay OPP says a driver involved in an accident on Highway 11 North near Marten River has died from injuries.
The accident occurred just after 10 p.m. yesterday.
A 52-year-old person died at the scene.
The highway has been reopened in both directions after being closed for over four hours for the investigation.
The OPP gave no details of any other vehicle involved or circumstances surrounding the accident. Also not disclosed in a news release was the name, gender, or home municipality of the victim.
Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team are assisting with the investigation which is still ongoing.
Including this crash, so far this year, at least eight people have been killed on Highway 11 in northeastern Ontario.
