$47K of suspected fentanyl, cocaine seized in Kirkland Lake

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges in Kirkland Lake. 

Kirkland Lake OPP executed a search warrant at a Carter Avenue residence on Dec. 17, seizing over $47,000 of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia and cash. 

A 36-year-old from Etobicoke has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

A 59-year-old from Kirkland Lake is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking.

Both of the accused are in custody and scheduled to appear in court via video on Dec. 21.

Executing the search warrant involved the OPP North East Region Community Street Crime Unit, with the help of the OPP North East Region Emergency Team and the OPP North East Region Canine Unit.
