Vaccine clinics set for people 65 and older

COVID-19 vaccine clinics have been set for people 65 years and older in the Porcupine Health Unit region. 

The clinics for people born in 1956 or earlier start Tuesday, April 13.

The vaccine for the clinics is Moderna. Eligible people in smaller outlying communities are welcome to book an appointment at these clinics, according to the health unit.

Tuesday, April 13

  • Timmins Mountjoy Arena 

Wednesday, April 14

  • Timmins Mountjoy Arena 
  • Smooth Rock Falls Arena
  • Matheson Community Arena 
  • Hornepayne Community Arena 

Thursday, April 15

  • Cochrane Tim Hortons Event Centre 
  • Hearst Claude Larose Arena 

Friday, April 16

  • Iroquois Falls Jus Jorden Arena 
  • Kapuskasing Sports Palace

Appointments are required for all clinics and walk-ins will not be accepted.

People who qualify for one of the clinics can book an appointment online here or call 1-800-461-1818.

For people who do get an appointment for the vaccination, the health unit has a few tips. They are:

  • Do not arrive early. People will not be allowed into the clinic before their appointment time.
  • Do not gather outside.
  • Bring a mask and your health card.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
