KAPUSKASING - A new space for employment and educational services has marked its grand opening.

This week, the grand opening of Carrefour de Nord-Est was celebrated at its location in the heart of Kapuskasing. The space is a partnership between the scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CSPNE) and Collège Boréal.

The space has been renovated and offers services through Centre d’apprentissage du Nord-Est de l’Ontario (CANO), the CSPNE administrative point of service, the employment centre and Collège Boréal.

“The partnership that has existed between the CSPNE, Collège Boréal and the community for several decades has been strengthened by the achievement of this fine construction project. This project has indeed been an idea for a long time, but today, we’re here to celebrate the grand opening of your Carrefour," said Yves Laliberté, CSPNE director of education, in a news release.

Carrefour is a one-stop shop for Kapuskasing, said Daniel Giroux, Collège Boréal president.

"Thanks to its completely renovated facilities, Collège Boréal’s Kapuskasing campus is more than ever an attractive choice for northern students seeking high-quality post-secondary education close to home. Our longstanding partnership with the Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario and our wide range of programs and services will strengthen the French-language continuum from the early years of schooling to successful entry into the job market," he said.
