Two new COVID cases reported in Timmins and area

Two new COVID-19 cases have been reported by the Porcupine Health Unit. 

The new cases are in Timmins and the Hearst, Hornepayne area. 

Both of the people are in self-isolation and their exposure to the virus is under investigation, according to the health unit. 

"Public health will notify all close contacts directly. If you are not contacted by public health, you are not considered a close contact. Regardless of an announcement of a case, everyone is reminded to stay home if they have symptoms and get tested," reads the bulletin.

To date, there have been 346 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region. Of those, 318 are recovered and 25 people have died. There are three known active cases — two in Timmins and one in the Hearst, Hornepayne area.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
