Timmins man accused of LCBO theft

The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an occurrence involving allegations of theft from the Timmins LCBO outlet on Sunday, Mar. 5.

It is alleged that, on Mar. 5, a male suspect fled the LCBO outlet with a number of items without making any attempt to pay for the items.

The suspect had been identified, located, and arrested by the Timmins Police Service a short while later.

As a result, Calvin Lawson, 22, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • One count of theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of fail to comply with recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada - One count of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused remains is police custody awaiting a bail hearing which is slated to take place at Provincial Court this morning in Timmins.
