Police have closed a Timmins road in connection with an ongoing investigation.
"In the interest of public safety, the Timmins Police Service has closed a section of Shirley Street North, from Lafleur Drive to the entrance of Ecole Renaissance," said Marc Depatie, Timmins Police corporate communications co-ordinator, in an email.
"Local traffic, motorized and pedestrian, is now prohibited from entering this area until further notice."
The Emergency Response Team is in the area "in keeping with an ongoing investigation."
Timmins Police said earlier today that they are investigating an attempted murder with a firearm-related injury that happened early this morning. At this point, police cannot say if the two investigations are related.
