No new cases, 7 recoveries reported today

For the second day in a row, the Porcupine Health Unit is reporting no new COVID-19 cases.

The health unit also reported seven resolved cases.

To date, there have been 2,141 confirmed cases of the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 2,095 are recovered and 30 people have died. There are 16 known active cases —  three in Timmins and 13 in the James Bay area.

So far, 51,664 people have been vaccinated, which is an increase of 2,432 from yesterday's report. There have been 99,203 doses of the vaccines administered.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
