Rock on the River organizers are doing more than arranging a weekend of live music.

To make sure concert-goers get home safe, the Timmins Festivals and Events Committee (TFEC) has secured partnerships for the event running July 26 and 27 at Participark.

“We really hope people take advantage of all the options available and plan ahead. Not only does this help with the very limited parking situation at the Participark, but it helps keep drunk drivers off the road. TFEC can’t stress this enough; have fun, but please don’t drink and drive," said John Olaveson, TFEC chair.

At the end of each night, First Student Bus Transportation will be running free shuttle buses, with one heading east to Porcupine and one going west.

Timmins Transit will also be free to any ticket buyer. For the free ride, you'll have to show your festival wristband or proof of purchase to the driver when boarding the bus.

Vets Taxi will also be on site and expecting a busy night.

The popular annual festival is just over a week away.

The Sheepdogs are headlining the Friday, July 26 show. Tim Hicks, The Trews, The Road Hammers and Maddie Storvold will also be on stage.

Saturday will see Theory, Red Sun Rising, Everlast, I Mother Earth, and Fortune Cookie Club perform.

Tickets are still available and can be bought here.

Entry for children under 10 is a cash donation for local charities. TFEC recently announced that the Yo Mobile and Timmins YMCA will benefit from the cash raised through the kids' admission this year.
